~ A Search For Moms Who Inspire ~
It is easily the most rewarding and most challenging thing you have ever done. You experience joy, fear and craziness in a matter of minutes. You are a Mom. Maybe you have ten children. Maybe you have one. Maybe you adopted. Maybe you work. Maybe you stay home. But most definitely, you love. You feel guilt you didn’t know you were capable of. You laugh harder than ever before. You marvel at the small, seemingly insignificant things. Your eyes are open in a new and wondrous way.
Suddenly you remember the joy of Christmas Eve, the trepidation that accompanies the first day of school, the energy that propels you to jump over the sidewalk cracks instead of walking slowly by.
You wipe noses, you smile through tears, you kiss away pain. You make breakfasts, and lunches and dinners. You help with homework, whip out your ‘stern voice’ when necessary, sometimes you even lose your temper and yell. You read bedtime stories, play endless games of Candyland, throw ‘just one more pitch’ until you are convinced you have lost feeling in your arm. You suddenly understand the frazzled mother of three you noticed in the grocery store before you were a mom.
These little moments and many more combine to create the Extraordinary Mommy in you. Every day, in big and small ways, you forgo the ‘ordinary’ to be everything to everyone. You put your family first and yourself last. Your life defines Why Moms Matter.
Do you know an Extraordinary Mom? Someone who manages the big and little life hands her? We want to hear from you. Send us her story. Give us an example of Why Moms Matter.
