Message From MomFaves Founder

My mom passed away from cancer 4 yrs ago and it’s the little things I miss most about her …birthday cards, phone calls, laughing together, not seeing her to play with her grandchildren, her hands and other ordinary reminders of her strong presence in my life. I’m sure most of you moms who love photography have favorite memories of the little things your mom did for you when we were growing up, or maybe you are a mom who matters yourself.

MomFaves is going to showcase the unique little things moms do that make a difference in our lives–which will be conveyed through your photos and a brief description.

We want you to submit photographs of these little moments you think define WHYMOMSMATTER to be used in both a promotional video for the MomFaves ~ WhyMomsMatter Project as well as the accompanying E-Book highlighting dozens of nominations of the most ordinary, extraordinary moms out there.

This EBook will be given away for free near Mother’s Day– because we think moms deserve all the credit in the world.

The crew from www.momfaves.com and www.extraordinarymommy.com will be deciding on the winning photographs. All photos selected will credit you for your work. Good luck and thank you for helping us to prove Moms Matter.

How MomFaves is helping me…

I’m one of those people who if I find something I LOVE, everyone has to hear about it. (Sorry about that!) So having an outlet like MomFaves is a great way for me to share my favorites products, sites, places and more. If I find something I want to share because I know other moms will love it too, I come straight to MomFaves.com to post about it. I also love seeing that other people share my enthusiasm for similar things!

MomFaves also allows me to find information from other moms. In the short time I’ve been a member, I’ve found things through other moms I would have never known about. For example, this past week in my daily email summary, I saw a fave from JessicaKnows about something called Love 146. Of course that peaked my interested and since then I’ve learned about this important mission.

Search engines just don’t do it all. Sometimes you need a personal touch. So on a lighter note,  if I’m looking for a fun craft for my kids to do, I can log onto this site and see what my favorite moms have recommended. Recently, I found printable pages for kids via ExtraordinaryMommy

The more you use momfaves, the more you will get out of it! I encourage everyone to try it out and you will find yourself having a blast favin’ things up! faves.

Briana Carter, a married mother of 4 active kids aged 10, 8, 4, and 2 started her blog “Bargain Briana” in the summer of July 2008 in response to a family and friend’s interest in her bargain shopping. How MomFaves is helping me…

Momfaves has become an important part of my daily life.  I have always loved to share my favorite finds with my friends and family, but having Momfaves around has opened doors even wider so that I can share with moms world wide!  Sharing as many favorite things on MomFaves has become a personal goal of mine.

About Courtney

Courtney Velasquez was born in Dallas, TX but spent most of her childhood life bouncing from Texas to California and somewhere in between.  Most recently landing herself in Michigan on a new adventure in the Midwest!   Her father was a CEO and her mother was a Stay at Home Mom with a Nordstrom shopping hobby that paved Courtney’s dream of owning her own store one day, that carried high quality, unique items and gave excellent customer service to all who entered.  And one day The Apple of My Eye™ was born.

How MomFaves is helping me…

I caught the vision of MomFaves at the Twitter Site-Warming Party. I found it was fun to submit all my favorites. I already had a collection of my favorite websites, etc. bookmarked on my computer and Delicious, but those things were not accessed or shared with anyone else. So all this time, those things were just my “best kept secrets”. So, I pulled out all my treasures and started submitting them to MomFaves. Since then, I think I became obsessed with submitting my treasures and going on treasure hunts to find other mom’s treasures. For me, this is just a whole lot of fun!
